Face Covering Exemption Card

The face covering exemption card is being distributed by Disability Equality Scotland link icon on behalf of the Scottish Government.

Scotland is now beyond Level 0 COVID restrictions and it remains a legal requirement to wear a face covering in a range of settings including indoor communal workplaces, shops and on transport, unless an exemption applies. Please see Coronavirus in Scotland – gov.scot (www.gov.scot) link icon and www.nhsinform.scot/coronavirus link icon for the most recent information on staying safe.

No-one should face discrimination for not wearing a face covering, nor should you have to prove you are exempt. However, we recognise that some people may feel more comfortable showing something that says they do not have to wear a face covering.

This card is designed as a tool to support people who are exempt to feel more confident and safer when accessing spaces where face coverings are required. Before downloading an exemption card, please ensure that you are exempt from wearing a face covering for the reasons outlined on the face covering exemptions page link icon.
